Your account

You need an account to comment, review, follow, save games and run a studio. Everything here is on the account settings page, from the user menu at the top right.

Registering

Register with a username, an email address and a password. You must be 13 or older.

• The username is public (it shows on comments and reviews), so please do not use your real name. It has 3 to 30 characters: letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores. It cannot be changed, so comments and reports always point to the same name.
• We email you a verification link. Until you verify, you can log in and save games, but you cannot comment, review, follow, register a studio or publish. If the email does not arrive, use Send the verification email again in your settings.

Logging in and passwords

• Forgot your password? Use the link on the login page. We email you a reset link that works for a limited time.
• Change password is in your settings. You can also choose to sign out of your other browsers and devices when you change it.

Changing your email

Enter the new address and your password. We send a link to the new address to verify it, and we also tell your old address about the change, in case it was not you.

Profile picture and public profile

• A profile picture (JPG, PNG or WebP, at least 64 by 64 pixels and up to 2 MB) is shown next to your name in the menu. We crop it to a square and remove hidden photo data such as location.
• A public profile is off by default. When you turn it on, the page /u/yourname shows your username, when you joined, and the studios you run or belong to, and you are listed on those studios' pages. It never shows your email address, and search engines are asked not to list it. Find it under Privacy and data.

Notifications, language and browsing

• Email notifications are on until you turn them off. See Emails we send.
• Language lets you use the site in English, French or Japanese. See Languages.
• Browsing games lets you save "hide games that use AI content". See Finding games.

Suspended accounts

If a moderator suspends your account, you cannot log in, and we email you the reason and how to appeal. See Moderation and appeals.
