Changing a game's address
Give a game a new web address without breaking links, and what happens to the old one.

Every game has a web address, such as /games/moon-run. It is made from the title when you create the game. Renaming the game does not change it, but you can change it yourself at any time.
How
On the game's edit page, open Game details and change Game URL. Use letters, numbers and hyphens, 3 to 80 characters. Something like "Moon Quest!" becomes moon-quest. Save the game and the page moves to the new address.
What happens to the old address
- The old address keeps working. It sends visitors to the new one with a permanent redirect, which also tells search engines the page has moved. The game's other pages, such as its devlog, move too, and a search or filter in the address is kept.
- Links you shared on social media or in your press kit do not break.
- A game remembers its 10 most recent old addresses. Older ones stop redirecting.
- You can take one of your own old addresses back at any time.
What is not allowed
An address already used by another game, one that another game used to have, and a few words the site needs for its own pages (such as tag). A new game never gets an address that another game used to have either.
Only the game's team can change it.
