What we collect
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, but only if you accept it in the cookie banner. If you accept, it sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, and device type. If you decline, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, it does not load. We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and does not store personal data such as your address, so it does not need a choice from you. You can change your choice any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer. If you register, we store your username, email address, and a hashed password, plus the studio information you choose to publish on your studio page. If you publish a press page with our press kit generator, we store what you put in it and show it publicly at a link on this site. Press pages are not listed in search engines, and you can edit or delete yours at any time from your dashboard. Images on a press page are loaded from the web addresses you provide, so those hosts can see visitors' requests. We email you only after you confirm through a link we send, and every email has an unsubscribe link. We send account emails (verification and password reset) and list emails through our email provider, Resend.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
If you have an account, you can download a copy of your data, delete your account and everything on it, and choose whether to show a public profile, all from your account settings. A public profile is off by default. You can also choose to hide games that use AI content when you browse the Games page, and we keep that choice with your account. You can also add a profile picture, which we resize and strip of hidden photo data. It is shown to you, and to other people only on your public profile. A studio owner can invite you to a studio team by username. We email you the invitation, and nothing changes until you accept. If you join, we store that link, and your username is shown on the studio page only if your public profile is on. You can leave a team at any time. Our moderators can see your account details, such as your email address and what your studios own, and they keep a log of what they do to an account, with the reason. If your account is suspended we email you the reason and how to appeal. To ask about data we hold about you in any other way, or to make a request on behalf of a child, use the contact form.
Games
If you upload a game, we store the game's details, every build you upload, and which account sent it. Once a reviewer approves a build, the game page and the game itself are public, and anyone can play it. Games run in the visitor's browser inside a sandbox that keeps them apart from our site and from visitors' accounts. We do not add tracking to games. A game may do things of its own, such as collecting data, and its developer is responsible for that and for telling players. When you send a build to be published, we send the game's title, tagline, description, tags and age label, the names of its files, the start of its main page, and its icon, banner and screenshots to Anthropic, whose AI model gives us a first opinion on whether the build needs a person to look at it. We do not send your name, email address or any other account details. A person makes every decision that affects your game. A studio can invite you to review its game by username. We email you the invitation and store the link so you can review it, and your review then says it came from an invited reviewer. If you save a game, we keep it in a private list that only you can see. If you follow a studio or a game, we store that link so we can email you when it posts. Studios never see who follows them, and you can unfollow or turn those emails off in your account settings. We also count, day by day, how often each game's page is opened and how often Play is pressed, and show those totals to the game's team. For page loads we also note the name of the website that sent the visitor (for example google.com), never the full address, or the label in a link's utm_source or ref setting. The counts use no cookies and do not record who looked, and visits by the team, moderators and robots are left out. Teams can also compare their games with the average of other studios' games grouped by tag or AI setting. That comparison only appears when at least five games from three other studios are in the group, and it never names a game or a studio. Games and their builds are deleted when you delete the game or your account.
Comments
If you comment on a studio page or a game page, we store the comment and the account that wrote it. The page shows your username, or your picture if your public profile is on. If you are on a studio's team, you can comment as that studio. Then the page shows the studio and not your username, but we, the studio's team, and our moderators can see which account wrote it. Comments you write as yourself are deleted when you delete your account. Comments you write as a studio stay on that studio's page without your account attached. You can delete your own comments at any time. When someone comments on a studio's page, we email the people on that studio's team with the commenter's name, an excerpt of the comment, and a link. When someone replies to your comment, or to a comment written in the name of a studio you are on, we email you in the same way. That is the only optional email we send to members, it is on by default, and you can turn it off in your account settings.
Messages you send us
If you use the contact form, we store the message, your email address, the name you give, and whether you were signed in. We use them only to reply and to keep a record of requests such as appeals and privacy requests. We do not store your IP address with the message. We keep a message as long as we need it to deal with it, and you can ask us to delete it. If you delete your account, the messages you sent are deleted with it.
