IndieDev Games

Age rating helper for indie games

Answer a few questions about what is in your game. You get an estimated age category in the ESRB, PEGI, and USK styles, the labels you will probably need to disclose, and how the game fits our content policy.

This is guidance, not an official rating. Only the rating boards decide a real rating, and they may land higher or lower than this estimate. For most stores the official route is the IARC questionnaire, which the storefront gives you when you publish. ESRB, PEGI, USK, and IARC are not affiliated with indiedev.games. Violence

Think about the most intense scene a player can see or cause, not the average one.

Sexual content and nudity

If your art style leans on fanservice, be honest here. It is the most common reason for a higher rating.

Language

Include text, voice acting, and anything players can read or hear.

Fear and horror

Think about jump scares, creepy settings, and disturbing imagery.

Alcohol, tobacco, and drugs

Mentions count too, not only when players use them.

Gambling

Paid random rewards are covered in the checkboxes below.

Hate and discrimination

Stereotypes or hateful characters. How they are presented matters.

Also in your game

Tick everything that applies. These do not change the age category, but boards show them as separate notices and they matter for privacy and our policy.
