About this game
The heroes took the glory. You'll take everything else.
You were a pawn shop owner. Then the lights went out, and now you're in a fantasy world with no powers, no goddess and no money. What you do have is an eye for what things are worth.
A hero party has just marched through every dungeon and village in the region. They kill the monsters, save the day, and leave without checking a single barrel. That's where you come in.
What you do
- Scavenge the places the heroes already cleared: an abandoned village, a trapped goblin cave with a hidden vault. Check every barrel, crate, urn and chest, and tap the walls. Some of them are lying.
- Manage your bag. Space is tight. Take the unknown thing now, or save the slot for the room you suspect is nearby? You can drop things and come back for them.
- Appraise what you find. Unappraised junk gets a flat lowball price, so your eye for value is the whole game.
- Sell and haggle. Quill the pawnbroker pays extra for different things each day. Specialist buyers (a blacksmith, a scholar and a very discreet noble) pay far more, but only for their own kind of goods. Win the timing-bar haggle for a better price.
- Earn trust, buy a sturdier pack and a keepsake locker, and work towards a place of your own.
- Come back another day. Shops look different from day to day, and some days the cave has something special going on. Quill will gossip about it before you leave.
No combat. No timers. No permadeath. Just a deadpan narrator, a lot of old barrels, and a very good eye for a bargain.

About this version (0.1.0) This is an early release and a small game: roughly an hour of play, two places to explore and a handful of buyers. If people enjoy it, I'll build more maps, items and events. Comments are very welcome: tell me what you liked, what confused you, and where you got stuck. Please mention the version number (it's on the title screen).
Browser version: it's a large game for a browser (about 100 MB), so the first load takes a moment. Click the game once if you hear no sound. Your save is stored in your browser.
