Moderation and appeals
What moderators do, what the content policy covers, how hidden items and suspensions work, and how to appeal.

indiedev.games is family-friendly, and a small team of moderators keeps it that way.
The rules
The content policy says what is never allowed (sexual content or nudity, sexualized depictions of minors, graphic gore, hate content, real-money gambling and manipulative monetization aimed at children), what needs an age label, and how decisions are made. Games are labeled Everyone, Everyone 10 and up or Teen (13 and up). Games for older players are not allowed.
What moderators can do
- Check builds that the automatic checks flag, and approve them or send them back with what to change.
- Act on reports: hide a game, studio, comment, review, post or press page, or dismiss the report.
- Restore something they hid if it was a mistake.
- Suspend an account that breaks the rules.
When something of yours is hidden
- A hidden game is no longer public, and its page shows that a moderator hid it to your team. A hidden studio is not shown, and neither are its posts.
- A hidden post, comment or review is removed for the public, and your team can still see a hidden post.
- Hiding does not delete anything. If it is restored, it comes back.
Suspended accounts
A suspended account cannot log in. We email you the reason and how to appeal. Your pages stay as they were unless a moderator hides them separately.
Appeals
If you think a decision was wrong, use the contact form and choose Appeal a moderation decision. Say which account or page you mean and why you think the decision was wrong. A person reads every appeal.
Moderators and admins cannot read passwords. Their actions on an account are logged with the reason.
