Following studios and games

Follow a studio or a game to get one email when it publishes a new post. Who gets what, and how to stop.

Following a studio or a game means you get an email when it publishes a new news or devlog post.

How to follow

Press Follow on a studio page or a game page. You need a logged-in account with a verified email address, because following only sends email. To stop, press Following again, or use Unfollow in your account settings.

What you get

  • Follow a studio and you get every post it publishes: its news and the devlogs of its games.
  • Follow a game and you get only that game's devlog posts.
  • Follow both and you still get one email for each post.
  • You get one email for each post, once, when it is first published. Editing a post later does not send it again.
  • A post that is scheduled for later is emailed when its time comes. A post written before its game was live is emailed when the game goes live.

Each email shows the title, a short excerpt and a link to the post.

What you do not get

You do not get emails for drafts, for posts a moderator hid, or for posts you wrote yourself. A studio's own team does not need to follow its studio, because they already see everything it posts.

Privacy

Studios never see who follows them. Your follows are listed only in your account settings, and they are part of the copy of your data you can download.

Turn the emails off

In account settings, under Email notifications, untick Email me when a studio or game I follow posts. Your follows stay in the list, but no emails are sent. See Emails we send.

You can also read news without email: see RSS feeds.
