GemStrike

GemStrike is a pixel-art match-3 puzzle game. Swap neighbouring gems to line up three or more of a colour, build powerful special gems, and reach each level's score target before your moves run out.

How to play

• Click a gem, then click a neighbouring gem to swap them.
• Line up 3 or more gems of the same colour to clear them. New gems fall in from the top, so one move can start a chain.
• Reach the score goal before you run out of moves. Clearing a level gives you bonus moves for the next one.

Special gems

• Cross gem - match 4 in a row, or an L or T shape. When it fires it clears its whole row and column.
• Color gem - match 5 or more in a row. When it fires it clears every gem of one colour on the board.
• Special gems fire when they are part of a match, or when you swap them.

Cracked stones

From level 3, cracked stones appear on the board. They never match, and special gems pass over them. A stone only leaves when it reaches the bottom row, so clear the gems under it to bring it down. Freeing a stone is optional, but it pays 400 points and 3 extra moves.

Levels and stars

• Five levels, and the board gets taller as you go.
• Each level you clear earns 1 to 3 stars. The more moves you have left, the more stars.
• Long chains trigger COMBO, GREAT, SUPER and MEGA bonuses with a little screen shake.
• If no move is possible, the board reshuffles for you.

Daily challenge

A separate mode with one board per day: everyone gets the same gems on the same date (it follows your device's clock). You have 25 moves on a 10-row board and simply chase the highest score. There are no levels to clear, and you can retry as often as you like.

Good to know

• Controls: click to swap gems. On the title screen press Enter or Space to play. Esc pauses and R restarts the current game.
• A short tutorial (the HELP button on the title screen) explains everything above.
• Your high score, best level, stars and sound setting are remembered in your browser when the site allows it. If the site blocks browser storage, the game still plays but will not remember them.
