Devlog and news posts

Posts keep your players up to date. A post is either studio news or a devlog about one of your games.

Write a post

From your dashboard, under Your devlog, choose Write a post. Fill in:

• This post is about. Studio news, or one of your games.
• Title (up to 120 characters) and the post itself in Markdown (up to 10,000 characters), with a preview tab. Images are not drawn inside the text, so use the cover picture.
• Cover image (optional). JPG, PNG or WebP, at least 640 by 360 pixels and up to 4 MB. It is cropped to 16:9 and shown on the post and in lists.

Where posts appear

• Studio news appears on the studio page, in the studio's news list and on the all-news page.
• A devlog post also appears on the game's page and its devlog list, once the game is live.
• Posts are also in the RSS feeds and in the sitemap.
• A post gets its own web address, made from its title. It does not change if you edit the title.

Draft, publish or schedule

• Untick Published to keep a draft that only your team can see.
• Tick Published to publish right away.
• To publish later, tick Published and set Publish later. Until then only your team sees the post, marked Scheduled for with the time. It appears everywhere by itself when its time comes. The time is in UTC, and can be up to a year ahead. You can move a scheduled post, publish it now, or turn it back into a draft.
• A post that is already out keeps its date and cannot be scheduled again.

Followers

People who follow your studio or game get one email for each post, when it first becomes public. Editing it later does not email them again. A post written before its game was live is emailed when the game goes live. See Following.

Reports and hidden posts

Anyone can report a post. A moderator can hide one post without hiding your whole studio. A hidden post stays visible to your team, marked Hidden by a moderator, and you can appeal. Posts follow the content policy.

You can edit or delete a post at any time from its page.
